The old app was using Ionic 3 and we’ve decided to migrate it to Ionic 5. Most of the changes were related to UI elements, and we delivered flawless results. Another important part was migrating from Cordova to Capacitor, we ended up using some Cordova plugins of course, but the Capacitor became a first-class citizen in the app. After the migration ended we’ve started implementing the video content marketplace mechanics, it took us some time to figure out how exactly are we going to do it.
Once we understood what the final decision would be like, first we made adjustments to back-end as well as created some mobile mocks to present to the client. Next – implement the ideas you’ve had. With Ionic 5 it was easier and the design looked overall better.
Last part – Adapt. For iOS we had some stylings we needed to change, for example, the segments do look different for iOS 13 and later versions. So we’ve fixed and improved some of the looks and feel for iOS and now it’s a great app, many people use it. Also, they can purchase exclusive live performances and videos from favorite artists with it!
